Election Essay

The Democratic candidates for the election are Hilary Clinton, John Edwards, Mike Gravel, Barack Obama, Bill Richardson, and Dennis Kucinich. The Republican Candidates are Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, Alan Keyes, John McCain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Fred Thompson. A Caucus is A party meeting at the precinct level at which citizens express their candidate preferences and pick delegates to their county conventions. It's the lowest level of party politics — the real grassroots. These meetings, held in each of the state's nearly 1,800 precincts, typically draw anywhere from a handful of people in rural areas to hundreds in suburban areas. They are here to help the citizens choose who will have been able to have a convention and to show who the favorite in the presidential election is. The national convention was made to show how much of the population is going to vote for each candidate and which party is leading in popular candidates. It is also there to help spread the political ideas of the candidates and also to show why you should vote for them. a election process is the process of the election starting with who can vote, who can be eligible to hold an office, the Nomination, Who is elected, Types of elections, Electoral systems, and Scheduling. A president holds office for four years, and may only be elected president and run twice. The public can be exposed to candidates by certain sources like the Internet, the Television, the Newspaper, Magazines, and many others. Also candidates have conventions to not only help support them, but also to show what their political ideas are. Asking if the Presidential system is broken, and is the right person being elected if a faulty question because people have their own opinion on whose would make the best president. Also how would one describe who the best president is, and what makes a president great? Is it good leadership, a good personality, lack of war, they're all right and wrong answers. I do believe that the Presidential can be corrupted, but once and awhile the right president is elected and the system works so it is a hard question to answer. The majority of candidates are there because they're millionaires or billionaires, but a small percentage is there because they're proven leaders, and know how to handle tragedy in tight situations. To run safe sound campaign it will tend to cost around seven hundred thousand dollars. Now knowing what it costs to run a winning campaign I think it may be more of monopoly game then a fair even game. Candidates tend to run programs, meetings, or conventions that the public is able to come if they pay. They may also get money from contributors, which support them. I think that most candidates discus and back certain issues because supports and contributors ask or tell them, or they do it because a good percent of the population is for it, or against it. If I could vote, I probably would not, not because I don’t care about the election but because I believe that most of the candidates are morally and politically insulting to our nation, but if I had to choose, I would pick Barack Obama, because of his views on politics and war are sort of close to my political views, and he seems like a man who could lead but still show that he cares for the people of our country.
