Presidential Elections
There are two parties that run for presidency. The candidates for President for the Democratic party is Hillary Clinton wants health care, Barack Obama wants lower taxes, John Edwards wanted to strengthen domestic defense , Bill Richardson wants to make America a clean energy nation, Dennis Kucinich wants to end poverty, Mike Gravel wants to reduce America's carbon influence. For the Republicans Candidates is Mitt Romney wants to improve health care, Rudy Giuliani wants to lower taxes, John McCain wants to lower taxes , Fred Thompson to keep the right to bear arms, Ron Paulen wants homeschooling opportunities, Mike Huckabee wants give all children education, Duncan Hunter wants to secure borders, and Alan Keyes wants to stop abortion. A caucus is a closed meeting of a group of persons belonging to the same political party. These are held so registered voters can cast their ballots for the candidates they prefer to be President. The biggest one is Iowa and New Hampshire. The national conventions are held in Chicago on June 2 for the Republican party and for the Democratic party august 25. This is held to nominate the vice presidents for each party. To decide who is president you have to go through a process known as the election process. This happens every four years. they decide who is going to candidate for president and vice president by a primary or caucus. then until November the candidates for both parties campaign to the public to vote for them. Next, the voters vote in November to decide who will be president. The candidates use many way to get the public to notice them. You will see bill boards, television commercial, new paper ads, talk shows, big speeches they give and sometimes will travel around to other states. I think that the election are not becoming reality shows. Their are still people that vote based on the person who will make the best decisions when needed and not a person that he or she like based on other ideas or what they look like. People should be choosing the best skilled and thoughtful leaders but some are just choosing the one that is the biggest celebrity. a president should be a little both but more skilled and thoughtful. the presidents we choose are one that were leaders already so they know what to do during a difficult situation. these candidates are spending between 500,000 and 800,000. this is amazing how much money they spent on campaigning when the money could me use for much better purposes like helping kids or cures. They get the money from the people. Company would sponsor them and hold big conventions for the candidates. I think that sometimes feel that candidates are pressured to push for issues desired by their contributors or they could lose money and or lose votes. I would vote for Barack Obama because i agree with what he wants. He has a little sense of humor that I like. It would be interesting to see how the public would react to him if he were to win.
