The republican canidates for the 2008 presidential election are Rudy Guilianni, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, Alan Keeyes, John McCain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson. The democratic canidates are Hilary Clinton, John Edwards, Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich, Barack Obama and Bill Richardson. If Hilary Clinton wins she will be the first female president and if Barack Obama wins he will be the first african american president. projects.washingtonpost.com/2008-presidential-candidates/...A caucus is a meeting of members of a political or subgroup to coordinate members' actions, choose group policy, or nominate candidates for various offices. They are held to select presidential nominees for each party running in the presidential election. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caucus.. The national conventions for each political party are held every four years in the United States by the political parties who will be fielding nominees in the upcoming presidential elections. The formal purpose of such a convention is to select the party's nominee for president, as well as to adopt a statement of party principles and goals known as the platform and adopt the rules for the party's activities, including the presidential nominating process for the next election cycle.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._presidential_nominating_convention....The election process is held every four years and its purpose is to get everyone over eighteen to vote and have a say in who will be the president.www.wikipedia.com...... The public is exposed to canidates by the internet, newspaper articles, commercial, billboard signs, radio broadcasting and about on any other form of entertainment. They write a brochure with some issue statements and a biography that highlights the relevant bits and omits the embarrassing bits. A very few candidates confront it more obliquely, by making up a history they believe voters may find more attractive. http://206.130.100.156/wiki/index.php/Public_exposure_Op-ed_by_David_Schlosser..... The president is elected every four years by the people voting for who they want. This is called the election process.
